Tucked away in the heart of Myrtle Beach is the Myrtlewood Palmetto Golf Course. The location of this course is deceptive as its wide open airy feeling gives the impression of being anywhere except in the middle of a town. Rambling abreast of the Intracoastal Waterway, the Palmetto's traditional design and breathtaking scenery are only the beginning of the attributes of this course. The Palmetto course is very player friendly with fairways that are broad and wide open, large, slightly undulating greens, a good selection of doglegs and a variety of hazards to test your skills. The Palmettos signature hole is the 18th. Driving up to the hole, you leave your cart behind, cross a footbridge for some 50 yards and proceed up a small hill to the tee boxes. This par-4 is very long and very tight stretching 468 yards to the green with a spectacular view of the waterway to your left. With the fairway sloped toward the waterway, a tee shot right of center of approximately 220 yards will set you up for a mid to short iron shot to the well guarded green.
This par 72 course has Tifdwarf Bermuda greens, measures 6977 yards from the Blue tees, with a slope of 135 and a course rating of 73.7 offers a delightful round for golfers of all capabilities.
